The bulk of the herb garden consists of beds, where I grow herbs that are used in natural medicines for the medicine cabinet. These are plants with long tradition in medicine. Old well-known herbs that have been used since time immemorial and are therefore not required to be tested in laboratory and clinical studies on their effectiveness. Take for instance the marigold and arnica, or nettle and St. John’s Wort: all well-known herbs whose effectiveness has been described in literature for centuries.
Moreover, these are herbs which are suitable for your medicine cabinet. Herbs that everyone should really have available for all kinds of first aid applications. Why only have plasters, but no marigold ointment?
In the oldest part of the garden, I collect as many species of medicinal plants as I can. I strive to have a wide range of plants, with applications for the whole body and all organ systems. These plants are certainly not all suitable for use without professional supervision. Not everything that is natural, is by definition innocent! Plants can indeed be toxic. But doctors and naturopaths can still make use of these herbs. You can get the complete list of plants that grow in my garden. Please contact me via the contact form, so that we may together determine which herbs are best for you.
Visit the garden?
Want to see the herb garden for yourself? For groups of 6 people I will be happy to give a tour, during which you may also pick herbs for your own herbal tea. Afterwards we will enjoy the self-picked herbal tea with a homemade fruit pastry on the terrace overlooking the herb garden, or in bad weather in the Kruudhof building. Cost: € 7.50 per person. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Betula Herbs is located on the Kruudhof , a vegetable garden for enthusiasts. On this organic vegetable garden we grow vegetables, fruit, potatoes and flowers for personal use.
